I am getting excited about family coming for a visit this weekend! I made these creatures for the boys of this family. They are filled with a plastic bag so when they're squezzed they squeak!
Two of these see eye to eye, the other does not! Have a wonderful weekend.
This week is Spring break for my two dg's. jb and I are taking them on a "cruz" to Catalina and Ensenada MX. no iphones, no parents.
This crocheted sweater has nothing to do with being on a ship but I made this jacket for a friend's new grandson and I wanted you to see it as it maybe the only jacket I'll ever make!
Dgd Alice asked for a pair of wrist warmers. I had maybe just enough red yarn for a small pair but built into the design a solution if I did run out. Almost at the end, I was shy indeed.
So I added the black stripe for the right hand. Hope she likes them!
Actually I haven't been to Mexico in years but I crocheted this bag during the holidays...so IF I had gone to Mexico I could have taken this bag with me!
Much of the yarn I used is leftovers (aka scrap yarn) and the really great colors are needlepoint yarn.
As I changed yarns I didn't cut off the tails (aka lazy) so at the end I added the beads. The bag is lined.
While in Seattle during the holidays I crocheted a pair of wrist warmers for a friend. I got a lovely skein of merino smart wool at Tricoter on Madison. The work tables inside the store were filled with ladies knitting, crocheting and chatting. The staff was helpful with my choice of yarn and color. The button collection is great and inspired me to do an embellishment at the cuff.
This doll is from my childhood...note the lead feet! Shocking I survived! He came from the White House Department Store in downtown San Francisco, CA. Cica 1949?
I loved this doll so much. I cared for him faithfully and now he is in good hands in Seattle, WA.
Of course I can see every error of my crocheting (new skill...so I get a pass) but the wrist warmers are made and ready for my trip to SEA. Leaving today and back after Christmas.

Most of you know my love of flickr.com. One can amuse oneself for hours looking at other people photos. Most of my time is spent looking at "contacts" (people whose photos are usually wonderful) or "groups" (photos of things of interest to you). One group I joined was "Your Side of the Bed". I joined because my dd started the group and I wanted to support her effort. I decided to confess. Yes, I am deeply ashamed. Yes, I know better. I do think that in the name of being up front and real you should know! (or to give you all a good laugh!)

Alice my dgd stayed with jb and me last week. She likes to read, do art, watch tv, swim and is usually up for most activities.
Here she's enjoying hot chocolate at Linn's in Cambria before touring "The Grand Rooms" at Hearst Castle.
She came with me to Art Clinic in Solvang. There were four granddaughters and 3 daughters and the usual suspects of artists. It was fun and lively. I made Alice a bracelet and necklace.
Both of these pieces I learned to do from great video tutorials on Make Bracelets. I love artists who share their ideas. I used materials in my craft stash.
